Community-wide Holiday Toy Drive Donor Reference Sheet

Toy and Gift Certificate Donations

Through this community-wide effort, the Sheriff’s Department will be accepting donations of toys for all ages and genders of children. Unlike the Adopt-A-Family process, there is no “set date” for dropping off your contributions. You can take toys and gift certificates to the Sheriff’s station at your convenience or you can choose to participate in the “Fill the Sheriff’s Bus” opening day drive on November 21st. Opening day donations can be made at the former Chamber of Commerce office located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 100.

We encourage you, your friends and neighbors, club members, religious groups, etc. to participate by purchasing toys, remembering the following guidelines:

Since Hunger doesn’t take a holiday, please don’t forget Grocery Store gift card donations:

We all have a soft spot for the toys for children, but we must not forget that hungry tummies are a continuing problem in our community. Please plan your giving with grocery store gift cards as a priority. Albertsons, Ralph’s, Vons, Stater Brothers—all offer gift cards or certificates.

We can accept gift cards at any time. Either mail them or drop them off at the Pantry and we will distribute them this holiday season. Our goal at the holidays is to give each family grocery store gift certificates equal to $10.00 per family member so that they might purchase the foods needed for a traditional holiday meal. We appreciate your efforts to help us achieve that goal. Again, invite your co-workers, friends, etc. to give to the best of their ability. We are all aware that this year has been a difficult one for so many – the hurricane victims certainly come to mind. Your personal “contribution budget” may be stretched thin. This new program is a way to help those less fortunate in your community without the burden of providing for an entire family.

If you have questions regarding the Community-wide Toy Drive, please check out our website at www.scvnet.net/foodpantry or call (661) 299-1551. Thank you for helping make the holidays a little happier for your neighbors in need. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and yours!
