Volunteers are the backbone of the SCV Food Pantry
We welcome all volunteers, even if only for a few days or a few hours. It is our selfless volunteers that make it possible to operate the SCV Food Pantry and restore hope to those in need.
Typical Tasks Fulfilled by Volunteers
- Food sorting
- Truck driving
- Truck unloading
- Food organizing
- Cleaning
- Clerical assistance

Volunteers are invited to serve during the following times.
- Monday - 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Tuesday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Wednesday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Thursday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Friday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Saturday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
volunteer reservation Required
Reservations are required for all volunteer service at SCV Food Pantry. Your reservation can easily be made Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm by calling (661) 255-5001. Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult during volunteer hours and should be at least 13 years of age.
Please note: if you are unable to volunteer the day of your reservation, please call us to cancel. This will allow us to notify waitlisted volunteers. Thank you!

Student Volunteers
If you are a student, the SCV Food Pantry can approve up to 10 community service/volunteer hours for students conducting a food drive in the student’s neighborhood or organization to which they belong.

Yes, student volunteer hours can be obtained through service at the SCV Food Pantry!
